About Us

Family Counseling Center is a privately funded Medicaid Rehab Option approved provider for CORE services. These services offer a variety of crisis prevention and intervention modalities that are intended to stabilize the living arrangement, promote reunification, and prevent the utilization of out-of-home placement for consumers. These services are delivered both in a clinic setting and in the homes of children ages 6-18 years of age.

The Ark Family Counseling Center specializes in treating children and adolescents with significant psychiatric illness and impairment in behavioral, cognitive, emotional, familial, and/or social functioning.

Our History

In 1995, Daino and Kelly Deasí vision began as home health providers for geriatric patients. During this time, they became foster parents for the Department of Family and Children Services. In 1996, this vision grew to incorporate providing help and hope to abused, neglected, and abandoned children on a larger scale. Through this vision they opened their first residential home for boys in Dekalb County, Ricky Homes, named after Kellyís deceased brother. Answering yet another calling, this dynamic duo wanted to help girls who had no place to go and they opened a shelter in Cobb County in 1998.

In 2000, the Ark, Ricky Homes expanded and added a third home for Boys in Dallas, Georgia. In 2001 another home was opened in Dekalb County. As level of care providers, the Ark Ricky Homes provided mental health services to the children that resided in their homes. As the State of Georgia made changes to its mental health system, the Ark Ricky Homes, added a new branch to the agency, the Ark Family Counseling Center in 2007. This branch became Medicaid Rehab Option providers. The Ark Family Counseling Center was approved to provide mental health services to children not just in the residential program but also to families and children served in the surrounding metropolitan Atlanta community.
